What Happens After?
People buy animals on impulse. They get bored. They move. They have kids. And then the animal becomes someone else's problem. That's where we come in.
Odessa Animal Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal sanctuary founded in 2005 by Andy and Brenda Kline. Located on more than 5 acres at 18404 Rustic Woods Trail in Odessa, Florida, the sanctuary is home to over 450 rescued animals including zebras, horses, tortoises, goats, rabbits, pigs, chickens, ducks, and birds. Every animal that arrives stays for life. The sanctuary does not adopt out, transfer, or euthanize. It is funded entirely by donations.
What We Stand For
For Life
Once they're here, they're here. We don't give up on animals, even when they're old, sick, or difficult. This is their home until the end.
Real Attention
Someone's checking on them every day. Handling them. Talking to them. These animals know who takes care of them, and they know us by name.
Proper Vet Care
Regular checkups. Medications. Surgery when needed. Whatever it takes to keep them healthy.
Food & Shelter
Good food, clean water, shelter that's actually suited to the animal. We build and maintain everything ourselves because that's what it takes to do this right.
The People Behind It
A small team that shows up every day. The animals don't get days off, and neither do we.
Andy Kline
Co-Founder & Director
Andy co-founded the sanctuary in 2005 and has personally cared for over 1,000 rescued animals across more than 20 years. He handles daily operations, animal intake, and coordinates veterinary care for all residents.
Karen Ann Holland
Director of Operations
Karen Ann manages fundraising, community outreach, and donor relations. She organizes events, coordinates volunteers, and makes sure the sanctuary's story reaches the people who can help.
Brenda Kline
Co-Founder & Director
Brenda co-founded the sanctuary alongside Andy and dedicated her life to building a place where unwanted animals could live in peace. She passed away on January 24, 2026, but her legacy lives on in every animal that calls this place home.

What We've Done So Far
Numbers don't tell the whole story, but they give you a sense of the scale we're dealing with here.
Want to Help?
We're always short on money and always short on help. If you've got either to spare, we'd be grateful.
